What happens on a mine tour?

The guided tour under ground goes through mine passages, large halls and past deep shafts. It is important to watch where you put your feet, keep the helmet firmly on your head and listen carefully to what the guide says.
To join a mine tour you have to be three years of age, be able to climb a stair, because there are a lot of steps when you visit Falun Mine. We take the steps down but on the way up we take the elevator.
Helm and rain cape you can borrow from us and it is mandatory to wear them for the entire tour. Besides that a warm coat or a sweater can be good to have, it is about plus six degrees celsius all year round in the mine, and sturdy shoes becuase it is wet and dirty.
The mine tour takes about an hour and we offer tours in both Swedish and English.
